　　近日，某网友发布了一条短视频，其内容为：在商场内，一位工作人员在打扫扶梯，为了省时省力，工作人员将拖把按在梯级上、利用扶梯的动力使拖把不断扫过扶梯，以达到清洁扶梯梯级的作用。

　　视频还配文“这操作没谁了”“只要思想不滑坡，办法总比困难多”，截止当时，点赞数已经超过600条。

　　这种清洁方式很常见

　　2015年8月，保洁员张世胜在上海中山公园龙之梦商场清洁自动扶梯时发生意外，小腿被夹已截肢。对此，商场方面发表声明称，张世胜在自动扶梯正常运行时，进行违规清洗工作，属于操作失当。

　　为此，有记者还对上海市的扶梯清洁方式进行调查，调查结果为大多数清洁员都是踩着拖把站在梳齿板上清洁扶梯：“我在这个商场清洁扶梯已经八九年了，都是用这种方法。”

　　多种原因致使清洁工陷入安全隐患

　　凭心而论，上述清洁方式的确非常简单、省力。如果先将扶梯停下再对梯级进行逐个清洁，那么将面临两个问题：一是花费时间和体力过多。一个普通的扶梯少说也有50个梯级，一个商场按照8个扶梯计算，清洁工需要完成近400个梯级的打扫任务。若一个梯级一个梯级打扫，需要耗费相当多的时间和体力。二是清洁工一般不会操作扶梯。逐个打扫梯级，需开动扶梯、以便让下侧的扶梯转到上侧，但是绝大多数清洁工都不会操作扶梯。虽然开动、停止扶梯的操作比较简单，但是操作者需持有扶梯钥匙——清洁工一般都没有权利和义务持有。三是商场和顾客可能不愿意停梯。扶梯本身就是为了方面顾客上、下楼，若时不时就要停梯打扫、体验感就比较差。对于一些客流量大的地方、特别是公共交通型的扶梯，想让扶梯停梯可不是一件简单的事。

　　上述种种原因，都迫使清洁工冒着危险打扫扶梯（即使他们自己可能没有意识到这一点）。

　　编者认为，公众对于扶梯的重视和关注，甚至已经超过客梯。尤其是近年来时有发生的扶梯“伤人”事件，让扶梯安全一直不敢马虎。因此，即使打扫过程再麻烦、再繁琐，也要按照“先停梯、再打扫”的原则开展。为了满足这个原则，商场可以对清洁工进行相关培训、取得相关操作资质，也可以减少打扫次数、由扶梯维保人员配合操作扶梯，或者采用其他合理的方法。为了不影响正常使用，可以在下班后进行清洁。当然，即使在上班期间，只要合理疏导客流量、耐心给出解释，相信绝大多数顾客都可以理解、支持。

　　反之，认为这种打扫方式是“创新”“办法”而给与点赞、支持和鼓励的，是绝对不应该的。

　　No Thumbs-Up for This Way of Cleaning on Escalator!

　　A recent video posted online shows that a cleaner was pressing a mop on the stairs of a running escalator, so the mop could clean every stair by itself.

　　And unsurprisingly the video has been been attached with remarks such as "who else could think of a way like this!" and "there is always a way as long as you maintain in a good state of mind", and won over 600 thumbs-ups so far.

　　However this kind of cleaning method is more than common. Zhang Shisheng, a cleaner of Shanghai Dragon Dream Mall, has had an accident when cleaning the escalator in this way in August, 2015, resulted in his leg amputation.

　　The mall has claimed that the escalator was under normal operation and the accident was caused by Mr. Zhang cleaning the equipment in a violating way.

　　In light of this, journalists have investigated on this issue and found that most cleaners have done the work in this way, and some even claimed that they had done it for 8 or 9 years.

　　Cleaners are thus trapped in hidden risks for multiple reasons. Honestly the mentioned method is simple and labor-saving indeed. If cleaners stop the escalator and clean the stairs one by one, they would face at least 2 problems.

　　The cleaning work would take more time and energy and they have no idea how to stop the equipment. For escalators in public places, especially for public-transportation escalators, it could be a huge project to stop them temporarily.

　　The reasons above make the cleaners finish the work risking their health and even life.

　　As I know, the public has attached more importance and concerns to escalators than elevators. Especially when frequent escalator accidents occurred these years, the escalator management parties has paid more attention to escalator safety than ever. And thus they should adopt a standard cleaning procedure as they stop the escalator before doing cleaning, even this could be annoying and complicated. To meet with the requirement, the escalator owner, such as the mall, could train the cleaners and entrust them the escalator-cleaning work until they gain related qualification. Or the owner could find other reasonable ways, such as lowering cleaning frequency or asking the maintenance worker to operate the equipment when it needs. We believe that escalator users would be understanding and supportive when given another people flow solution with feasible explanations even in working hours.

　　Anyhow, it’s never right to express support and encouragement to the “innovative” yet risky way of cleaning.
