一名送报员于4月21日在百老汇公寓楼里掉入25尺高的电梯天井。据报道，该男子40岁左右，当时正在急于从停滞不动的电梯中离开。在他祈求电梯门打开之后，试图跳过停滞的电梯底部与大厅地板间4英尺宽的缺口。该男子撞倒了地板，失去平衡之后跌倒。纽约消防部门迅速把该男子送入纽约长老会医院（威尔康奈尔医疗中心）。

DELIVERYMAN FALLS DOWN ELEVATOR SHAFT

　　A newspaper deliveryman fell 25 feet down an elevator shaft in a Broadway apartment building on April 21. According to reports, the man, in his 40s, was rushing to leave the building when the elevator became stuck. After prying the doors open himself, he attempted to jump the four-foot gap between the bottom of the stuck elevator and the lobby floor. The man hit the floor, lost his balance and fell. The New York Fire Department rushed the man to New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center.
