NEW INDIAN LIFT REQUIREMENTS

　　Owners of multistoried buildings with lifts or escalators in Kolkata, India, are now required to report all details pertaining to the equipment to a chief electrical inspector. Guidelines on maintenance, periodic inspection, security measures and emergency provision will be provided through the state passed Assam Lift and Escalator Rules, 2010.
