Improper installation blamed for elevator crash at school

　　An elevator that crashed at a Winnipeg school last month, injuring two adults, was improperly installed, the Office of the Fire Commissioner has concluded.
　　A spokesman for the office said Wednesday its investigation found a failure to weld certain parts of the lift's hydraulic cylinder contributed to the incident.
　　In an earlier Free Press story, a company named Kone Inc., identified by the newspaper previously as Kone Elevators, was listed among those who responded to the incident. On Wednesday, a woman who answered the telephone at Kone declined to comment. "We're not releasing any statement or any comment," she said.
