WASHINGTON BUILDING OWNER TACKLES L&I ELEVATOR ROLE
Businessman Charlie Potts of Walla Walla, Washington, is tackling his role as one of three building owners on a Department of Labor & Industries (L&I) elevator technical advisory committee with enthusiasm, stating he hopes to get input from as many local owners of buildings with elevators as possible, the Union-Bulletin reports. The committee plans to meet on April 15 to consider updates to elevator-related issues within Washington Administrative Code. More than 80 proposals have been received so far, but Potts hopes to get more. L&I’s Elevator Section performs safety inspections, issues annual operating permits, reviews installation applications and approves and inspects elevator modernizations.
