　　The administrative authority responsible for civic amenities and some infrastructural assets in greater Bangalore, India, plans to start online monitoring of lifts and escalators at up to 25 skywalks by June in a public/private partnership with Bosch Technologies, the Deccan Herald reports. During a meeting on April 23, officials decided to install the devices in an effort to enhance safety and equipment reliability. Online monitoring will allow the authority to pinpoint and fix problems as they occur. The authority hopes it will motivate more pedestrians to use the skywalks instead of crossing busy roads.
