6月26日，当地媒体报道，在因一起造成数十人受伤的自动扶梯事故停运了8个月后，罗马的Republica地铁站已经重新投入运营。该站的自动扶梯曾在运行中突然加速，造成多人跌倒受伤，并随后在2018年10月，该地铁站开始关闭。当时扶梯上的人乱作一团，据说事故中有乘客失去了一只脚。因此工作人员花了8个月的时间对站内的其他的自动扶梯做好维护工作。然后，其他的地铁站也发生过类似的自动扶梯的事故，Spagna站曾因此关闭一段时间，目前已经恢复营运，而Barberini站仍因为电梯设备故障进行闭站检修。

　　Eight months after an escalator malfunction that injured dozens of riders shut it down, Rome's Repubblica metro station has reopened, The Local reported on June 26. The station was closed in October 2018 after one of its escalators suddenly picked up speed and sent riders tumbling. As riders became tangled in the machinery, one person reportedly lost a foot. Though the station has reopened, the escalator that malfunctioned remains closed; workers have spent the past eight months doing maintenance work on other escalators. Escalators have also caused problems at other metro stations; the Spagna stop was closed for a while, and the Barberini station remains closed three months after one of its units malfunctioned.
