据CBS 58 News报道，美国米沃尔基一所公寓的电梯发生火灾，且该电梯检验已经逾期。7月8日，该公寓的电梯井道突发火灾，导致20余人需另外安置。从记录上来看，该建筑内的电梯上一次检验已经是2016年1月。社区服务部门称“建筑所有者有责任确保电梯设备经过检验才投入使用”。而米沃尔基消防局称目前尚不知道是火灾导致了电梯故障还是电梯故障导致了火灾的发生。目前该公寓楼已经通过了所有的消防检查。

　　Building with Elevator Fire behind on Elevator Inspections

　　A Milwaukee apartment building that had an elevator fire was behind on elevator inspections, CBS 58 News reports. Twenty of the building’s residents were displaced from their homes when a fire broke out in the elevator shaft on July 8. City records show the building’s last elevator inspection was in January 2016. The Department of Neighborhood Services says, “The responsibility to maintain a certified elevator rests with the property owner.” The Milwaukee Fire Department says it doesn’t know if the fire caused the elevator failure, or if it was the other way around. The building had recently passed all fire inspections.
