Do you dare to use the emergency closestool in elevator in case of earthquake?
There are about 620 thousand sets of elevators in public constructions and business buildings in Japan, 20% of which rest in Tokyo. Earthquakes are frequent as Japan lies on the border of 4 continental plates. However it’s indicated that the next violent earthquake in Tokyo would be in the coming decades with about 17 thousand elevator trappers.
If closestools are in the elevators, foldable paperboard constructions with waterproof bags or other absorbent materials are required.
In the wake of increasing aging population, some newly designed or installed elevators are quipped with seats in small size, under which may be fixed with closestools.
However, it’s not the first time that science and technology advances as a result of nature and environment, ranging from the rescue equipment born in the Titanic Tragedy to the new drinking water technology resulted from the Indonesia Tsunami in 2004. Japan is indeed a country of modern humanization and human rights and democratization policy, also enjoys a global high reputation in closestool making and designing. From this aspect the installation of closestools in elevator sounds more reasonable and rational.
