　　IAA COSMIC STUDY & ISEC UPDATES: The International Space Elevator Consortium (ISEC) has partnered with the International Academy of Astronautics (IAA) to review all technologies and ideas surrounding the space elevator. To be completed in 2013, the book will serve as the benchmark for space-elevator research and demonstrate engineering feasibility of the space elevator. In other news, with its growing presence, ISEC is quickly becoming recognized as an international organization. To reflect this, ISEC is moving its website to a new address (www.isec.org). ISEC is currently transferring its information to the new domain, but all previous addresses still function. Also, visiting the old domain (www.isec.info) will redirect users to the new address. For those planning to attend the 2011 Space Elevator Conference in Redmond, Washington, on August 12-14, "early bird" registration rates are in effect until July 1. In addition, the official call for papers a deadline of June 11. The primary theme of the conference is "developing stronger and lighter tethers," but entries from all areas of the space elevator community will be reviewed for potential presentations.
