据WPRI报道，一名12岁的女孩在罗德岛会议中心参观的过程中受了轻伤，她的鞋子被自动扶梯夹住。该女孩和母亲当时正搭乘下行的自动扶梯，准备前往参加啦啦队比赛。不料女孩不小心把鞋子脚趾的部分卡在自动扶梯的台阶和侧边缝隙当中。她的两名啦啦队队员都没法脱下她的鞋子，在到达地面前把她的脚拿出来。据女孩母亲的描述，她的脚受到了挫伤。而会议中心的管理人员称这是有史以来第一次发生类似事故，当天的电梯处于正常运行的状态，安全保护设施也是最新的，同时也称电梯维修公司将对该设备进行检测。

　　GIRL’S FOOT BRUISED AFTER SHOE GETS CAUGHT IN ESCALATOR

　　A 12-year-old girl visiting the Rhode Island Convention Center (RICC) in Providence received minor injuries after one of her shoes got pulled into the side of an escalator, WPRI reports. The girl and her mother were attending a cheerleading competition when they boarded the down escalator. As the girl stood to one side, the toe of her shoe got caught in the gap between the step and side. Two of her cheerleading teammates were able to untie the shoe and release her foot before she reached the bottom of the escalator. She suffered what her mother described as serious bruising. An RICC official said the escalator was working properly, and its safety equipment was up to date, but added the vendor would be asked to examine the unit. He said this was the first time such an accident had been reported.
