ELEVATOR SHAFT FALL INVESTIGATED BY CANADIAN AUTHORITIES
The Ministry of Labour, which oversees labor issues in the Canadian province of Ontario, is investigating a fall down an elevator shaft in an under-construction tower in Centreville on August 14, the Ottawa Citizen reports. Ottawa Fire Services responders used ropes to lift the person to safety, and he or she was then treated by paramedics. It is unclear how the accident happened or whether the person is an employee of Claridge Homes, which is developing a 27-story, mixed-use tower at the site. Claridge Homes declined comment.
